The SEC has developed the most comprehensive television package in the country, featuring alliances with CBS Sports, ESPN, Jefferson-Pilot Sports and FOX Sports Net South. The nine-state SEC region represents 20 percent of television households in the U.S. and publishes more than 70 daily newspapers.

  • The Southeastern Conference has multi-year agreements with CBS Sports, ESPN and Jefferson-Pilot to televise SEC sports throughout the 2008-09 academic year. For the first time, every SEC football game on CBS Sports will be televised nationally.

  • The SEC also has an extensive agreement with FOX Sports Net South to televise original programming featuring SEC sports, including live Olympic Sports coverage and conference championships. Three regional cable networks - FOX Sports Net South, FOX Sports Net Southwest and Sunshine Network - form SEC-TV, which blanket the Southern United States, showcasing all 20 of the SEC's sports.

  • The SEC was the first conference to establish an extensive presence on the Internet. The conference's web site, www.secsports.com, received more than 30 million page views last year. The site contains the latest information on all of the league's sports and fans can also get the latest SEC merchandise on www.secstore.com.

  • SEC football stadiums were filled to 94.8 percent capacity in 2000. Since the NCAA began keeping that statistic in 1983, the SEC has led the nation, never falling below 91.3 percent. The SEC placed second in total and third in average attendance in men's basketball and third in women's basketball. The SEC has led in baseball attendance every year since the NCAA has kept the statistic.

CORPORATE PARTNERS
The Southeastern Conference Corporate Partner Program began in 1989 with three companies dedicated to intercollegiate athletics and higher education.

Now supported by many of the nation's top corporations, this program has evolved into the most successful of its kind.

The mission of the corporate partner program is: (1) to develop marketing and promotional activities that benefit the SEC, its member institutions and the participating corporation, (2) to emphasize the positive role of athletics in our society, and (3) to provide funding for youth clinics, championship events and academic enhancement programs.
